Yahoo! has been in Friendster's layout ever since its first release on the year of 2002. Due to Friendster's massively new concept of social network service, it became very popular until the year of 2004, wherein new social network sites like Myspace, overtook its place with faster page loading and other features.
Recent reports have it that Friendster has been offered by Google to be purchased back in 2003 but has actually declined to reach an agreement. Friendster would have to go through a series of CEO changes to intently bolster its chances in the social network services competition, but has spiraled downwards. This prompted for the agreement between Friendster and Google break the Friendster-Yahoo.com partnership in expense. This is so since Google has been able to put on top of the competition in terms of monetizing Friendster pages more effectively than that of Yahoo and other competitors.
